I'd say Hotmail because you don't have to have the adjacent services related to keeping that account open. Besides, AOL is so passe these days. At least Micro$oft is trying to keep up...I wouldn't expect AOL to last too much longer.

Whats the best free anonymous email provider?
It all depends on your definition of anonymous. If you're looking at the average web site or person receiving your email from knowing who you are that is one thing. If you think you can be truly anonymous from government agencies and such it isn't going to happen.
If you want to be relatively anonymous for web sites and such it doesn't matter what email provider you use. Yahoo mail will work just fine. Just sign up under and alias.
However regardless of what email service you use there are other considerations that can be used to track you and reveal your true identity. Read the article below for a nice explanation of these scenarios.

When we changed from AT%26amp;T Yahoo, to just Yahoo, it asked to import bookmarks, and we clicked import, it showed to import 333 bookmarks, but they are not found anywhere. I have since went in and created some new ones.
I went out and looked everywhere from bookmarks and cannot find them. Could you please help us to locate the bookmarks?

No not unless they request this from the police but they would only do this if there was an urgent desperate need for it ie in the event of a death or serious sexual assault and even then the isp provider does not have to give your details as they are governed by data protection... so yes the police can find out but no the NSPCC can not.

I want email with POP3, but with security built in. Other things I don't know much about, but I know there's this thing called PGP out there. Also what about encryption. I feel like I need to worry about my privacy. Also, I'm not sure I want to support Yahoo through their email accounts when I think they may be making unethical decisions in countries like china. I think I'm looking for more security through obscurity, more effective spam filtering. overall just better.

If you are distributing junk mail, hopefully they will help you sort out your mailing list to avoid sending your garbage to people who do not want it.

How could I configure Outlook-express to Gmail, Yahoo or any other free email provider ?
All of those settings basically are configuration settings so that Outlook Express will know where to look for your mail. It's pretty confusing at first, but once you get one set up the rest will be a bit easier.
See the link below for help with Yahoo's SMTP and POP settings (they depend on what version of Outlook you're using). Please note that you won't be able to check your email with another non-Web method unless you have Yahoo Mail Plus (see second link).
Gmail and Hotmail have similar settings - see the third link below for Gmail's settings.

Who is the best email service provider and why?
There are a list of mail providers .every one has a spl features .
I cant pretend that any of them good or best because every second email service providers are upgrading themselves and implement new things on their mail servers . for the basis of that i rate the as

The new msn hotmail should have ur name.. it lets u select an @live.com address and since its new it should have it.
Also yahoo mail has @ymail.com now.
I also like Lycos and Inbox.

Reply:rocketmail through yahoo. you should check you can use other @something.com with yahoo for example: yoy...@rocketmail.com is actually controlled by yahoo. But I think you need to sign out of your yahoo account first to sign in to a rocketmail account.

so something as simple as a vodafone or orange account is just as good without the rubbish. You can still get attactchments and pictures sent so you wont miss out on the extras, plus you dont have to pay for extras like you do with hotmail and yahoo.

If you have an established business, then you should register the domain name and use the email that it provides. Otherwise, yahoo, hotmail or any other email account doesn't necessarily mean that it's for business.

If you need more than 5 or 6, you're filters are not efficient enough.

Having used yahoo, hotmail (msn), gmail, and a really odd one that you can find in the sources section, I have to say it depends entirely on how much you use it and what you use it for.
Obviously, yahoo is good if you want to use yahoo answers. That's pretty self evident. I haven't tried using all the new features yet (I had an account a long time ago, then got a new one more recently), but it seems pretty good.
I'd say hotmail is similar to yahoo in a lot of ways. Similar look, similar amount of advertising, similar organization of the mail. Meh. I use it, but I'm not a terrible fan.
I really like gmail. I find it takes a bit of getting used to at first, but I like having the ability to put many different labels on any given e-mail, I like the lack of flashing banner ads, and things just flow a little more cleanly. I also find the built in chat indispensable. It has a few less features than hotmail in terms of making pretty coloured e-mails, underlining stuff, etc, but I've found that I really don't miss that.
The one from abcde.... is really only useful for the ability to have a long e-mail address. You won't get a lot of spam, but you also won't get many e-mails from your friends for some reason....
I'm assuming you are sticking to freely provided webmail. Many internet providers also provide e-mail, and each of those has it's pros and cons. I prefer webmail because it means I can use it wherever I am, and I don't lose it when I switch internet providers.

Gmail is the number one email provider around! Yahoo is the second best, and then AOL comes in third. I read that on some pole the other day, and, even tho I don't have AOL, I agree with the gmail and yahoo thing, because I have both of them and Gmail is so great to use! I love it! Yahoo is good too, but I definitely rank Gmail higher! Try it and see for yourself!

No you use the craigslist e-mail link. If there is no link the person did not provide an e-mail(bone-heads). If they just put their e-mail in the add, then you can go ahead and use your own e-mail if you want. We have used the craigslist a few times, some of the people have been cool, some have been kind of creepy. Go figure, huh?

after the download click on the screen icon to open it up, then click on windows, then put checks next to the lil boxes on the left, then click on the cleanup feature on the right.

Set Outlook to auto-reply to all emails that come in. Then set the auto-reply to be what ever you wish (attach PDF or web links). I have this setup done for when people send me a query from my website.

I've had enough of the arrogance of Yahoo!, as it just basically avoids communication with its customers and rudely refuses to answer queries. It even demonstrates this with clearly deliberate cryptic instructions. Its easy to lie about providing certain bogus services if you you cannot hold them to account, thus avoiding contact.

Good question, but may not be the right question. Any type of network based conversation, be it e-mail, instant messaging or web-form submission is vulnerable to many types of security risks. Honey, there are several mail client, that have 'Read receipt' and 'Delivery reciept'. But since mails work on something called an Exchange Server, with different companies using different Exchange servers, it is very difficult to one Exchange server to get a Read reciept from a Different Exchange Server.
Hears how it works, its like a long piece of thread that goes to the other persons mailbox, the moment, it is read, it will relay information back to the sender that the mail has been read and the thread will be invisibly cut. If however you ask for a 'Delivery', 'Read' and a 'Delete' Receipt, then your mail will have 3 threads. One for each receipt.
AOL, Outlook, Eudora, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, and nearly every Mail client worth its salt have it.
The catch. You will need to send the mail within the same client.
For instance you will get a delivery, read and delete notification, if you are sending from an AOL address to a AOL Address, and likewise with other clients.
Inter Server receipts are very expensive and come only with one or two custom emails service providers and both of them serve the super rich.

I do not want to start a Yahoo group, but simply send newsletters and press releases for an organisation with 6000 members. Not getting on too well with Outlook, not least of all because unlike Yahoo!, it doesn't tell you whether incoming email addresses are already in your address book, and doesn't make it easy to add them either. In these days of technology, I am so surprised to have searched high and low for a package which I thought would be readily available. OK, there's packages such as Constant Contact for mass emailing, but although their newsletters look fab, you cannot scroll your email lists in this system and it's not an email system. Please, can anyone recommend anything that's easy and convenient, with great newsletter potential? Anyone here who knows about newsletter template design and databases etc? Help!!!!

This can be done but u cant do it urself. To do this u shall hv to download yahoo messenger 7.5 and then update it. Yahoo will prompt u to update it. Hotmail deletes your account if you don't use it in one particular time.
Gmail keeps your account forever with some 7GB space and they DONT give your ID to anyone. That only happens if you go to some bad sites and register there. Get Gmail.

However to get mails either mail forwarding, pop or imap should be available in yahoo or hotmail. I don't know if your account will have as yahoo gives pop with certain accounts only and I don't know about hotmail.

Reply:well i'll have to take my chances down talking yahoo on there own site but for me hotmail is better but it depends on a few things
1. if you use msn messenger because then it will tell you when you get an e-mail
2. how much do you use yahoo answers or windows spaces etc because most of them are links and the one you use most you should use for updates
3. how big a nerd are you? ok odd question but in my experience bigger nerds prefer gmail because it is quicker and works with youtube

Hotmail deletes your account if you don't use it in one particular time.
Gmail keeps your account forever with some 7GB space and they DONT give your ID to anyone. That only happens if you go to some bad sites and register there. Get Gmail.
Reply:my experience has been better with hotmail over yahoo because i get less junk mail. i would not recommend handing your email address to google they will sell it on and give you load of advertising crape.
thats just my opion. i have a hotmail account for msn and a yahoo account for this... and i dare not look at the yahoo for the 100s email advertising i get.

I need to send a file but it is 40.??? MB and can be compressed to 35.??? MB. I belong to gmail which can send files up to 25 MB. Is there an email service provider that allows me to send the file that I want to send.
Or is there a way to compress it to less than 25 MB? I already used winzip.

Winzip has a way to split the compressed file into several parts. You can specify how large the parts are, so that they can be emailed.
The recipient saves all the parts (once they arrive) to his local machine, and winzip can reform the original 40Mb file, no problem.
To do the splitting in Winzip, launch it and open the archive of your 40Mb file. Press the shift key and H to Split it. (Or you can click on the menu bar, and go Actions/ Split)
When you see the Split dialog, look at the bottom left. It will have a size there, (something like 1.2 Mb). You can change this to whatever you want. Just select "Other Size" and fill in the "Other Size" field, making sure to select Mb and not Kb, or "bytes".
Winzip will make each part that size, (except the last part, which will just be the remainder of what's left.)
