Do I use my regular email provider to reply to a post on craigslist?

No you use the craigslist e-mail link. If there is no link the person did not provide an e-mail(bone-heads). If they just put their e-mail in the add, then you can go ahead and use your own e-mail if you want. We have used the craigslist a few times, some of the people have been cool, some have been kind of creepy. Go figure, huh?

I use hotmail as my email provider but all of a sudden can't open my email attachments, any poss solutions?
i had the same problem opening attachments once. this is what worked for me:

download http://www.ccleaner.com

after the download click on the screen icon to open it up, then click on windows, then put checks next to the lil boxes on the left, then click on the cleanup feature on the right.

then reboot your computer and try your attachments again. hope this helps, good luck.

Is there an email provider that can send attachments over 25 MB?

I need to send an attachment, but am unable to because the attachment is over 25 MB (it's 26.8 MB). I can't modify it. I tried sending it on Yahoo, AOL, and GMAIL but none of them can support the attachment. Do you know a provider that can?

Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc. has a 10mb limit,. its annoying. If you want you can use my brothers site to send files up to 2GB,.. its free and you can use your existing email.

Currently I am using Yahoo. What I don鈥檛 like about yahoo is in order for me to go from one email account to another I need to fist sign out and then type in my username and password. I want to go to any of my email accounts with just a mouse click.

Thank you

Who do recommend as an email service provider?
You're not going to be able to find this functionality with any major webmail provider, as far as I know. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail/Live Mail, all require you to sign out first if you want to use another account.

A workaround would be to use the POP3 service of the webmail provider (only gmail is free) and setup a desktop mail client, like Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) to grab the email. Then, instead of checking all your email accounts through the web browser, you could use the desktop mail client instead.

POP3 access with Yahoo Mail Plus is $20/year, Hotmail/Live Mail Plus is $20/year, GMail is free.
Reply:That's not an issue with Yahoo, it's an issue with you.

Either consolidate your accounts into one email account, or forward the other accounts onto a primary one.

Alternatively, use a local email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird which can download emails from all accounts into one place.

John L says it all - gmail.com

It's now out of its beta test period, and anyone can get an account (or two or three...).

They're up to 4 gbytes free storage, and growing every day.

You can accept (or send) very large attachments.

You can use the gmail interface to download and store e-mail from your other accounts

You can "pop" gmail to outlook, thunderbird, etc.

You can do this using Outlook (connecting to which ever provider you already have).

Set Outlook to auto-reply to all emails that come in. Then set the auto-reply to be what ever you wish (attach PDF or web links). I have this setup done for when people send me a query from my website.

I love using godaddy.com . You can register your domain there, host and get an email package for great pricing! And it's easy to set up!
Reply:My husband owns a communications company and uses Network Solutions Webmail. You can have up to 40 e-mailboxes and its only $1.30 or so per box. You can also use your domain name in the email address (bob@bobshandymanservice.com). They register domain names and you can either design the website yourself or they will do it for you (I think its $500). We have never had any problems with them.

"Yahoo! mail plus" offers the ability to attach files of up to 20 MB, but it is not a free service. I found 2 free(!) mail providers which allow this though. Note: if a recipient's mail provider doesn't allow attachments of that size, your mails may not reach their destination! Better check this with your contact to make sure that everything works out...:-)

Can anyone please advise on a more customer freindly email provider? How to make your own EMAIL provider service?

I bought a domain name and running a website. Later I think I might want to provide the users with email service, like for yahoo users can sign up for name@yahoo.com. I want to make my own "name@mydomainname.com" so people can register this service on my site -- how can I do that?
How to make your own EMAIL provider service?
You need to be running a mail server, for this the cheapest and simplest answer is Linux running Postfix and Dovecot as the mail handlers. You would need to subscribe to a fixed IP address, and set your domain registrar's dns A and MX records to point to your IP. You need to forward the smtp and pop3 ports to your IP on the router. You can offer IMAP web mail this way, but will need to set quotas on user mailboxes. You also need to run a database for user and security control if you need to automate user logins, and must be very careful of mail sending security or your site will become an open spam relay and be blacklisted.
Reply:This depends on what software you are running server side. Are you hosting this site on your own personal machine? Or through a hosting company. If you are using your own machine are you running Windows or Linux? If you are hosting from a company, contact them for an account setup. You need to give some more info.

What is the most secure email provider?

What is the most secure email provider? Basically most private, hardest to hack etc etc...
What is the most secure email provider?
Good question, but may not be the right question. Any type of network based conversation, be it e-mail, instant messaging or web-form submission is vulnerable to many types of security risks. Aside from the risk of someone guessing your e-mail password (most common by the way), is a hackers ability to glean the information using a sniffer program. Most e-mail applications will send your message via plain-text across the network. If this is the case, any good sniffer program can read all your e-mails. If protection is vital, consider protecting your e-mail through digital signatures and digital encryption, for more info check out pgp (stands for pretty good privacy) @: www.pgp.com

Good luck with your solution! :)

Does anyone know of an email service provider that has the capacity for me to see if my mail is received?

I would love to find an email service that has the capacity to let me know if my emails have been received and/or read by the person I am sending them to. Does anyone know if there are any such email services out there? Thanx
Does anyone know of an email service provider that has the capacity for me to see if my mail is received?
Honey, there are several mail client, that have 'Read receipt' and 'Delivery reciept'. But since mails work on something called an Exchange Server, with different companies using different Exchange servers, it is very difficult to one Exchange server to get a Read reciept from a Different Exchange Server.

Hears how it works, its like a long piece of thread that goes to the other persons mailbox, the moment, it is read, it will relay information back to the sender that the mail has been read and the thread will be invisibly cut. If however you ask for a 'Delivery', 'Read' and a 'Delete' Receipt, then your mail will have 3 threads. One for each receipt.

AOL, Outlook, Eudora, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, and nearly every Mail client worth its salt have it.

The catch. You will need to send the mail within the same client.

For instance you will get a delivery, read and delete notification, if you are sending from an AOL address to a AOL Address, and likewise with other clients.

Inter Server receipts are very expensive and come only with one or two custom emails service providers and both of them serve the super rich.

So there you go..

When did you first start using the internet and what was your first email provider?
I don't remember well but about 99 I got connected to internet for the first time and my first e-mail account was in Yahoo but I have no idea about the its address lol

I have aim, gmail, yahoo and my own website pop3 e-mail at the moment and I have used Hotmail too if I want to compare them, hotmail is the worst, gave me 2 mb of space and never increased it!! and I can't add it in Outlook, second worst is Yahoo, specially this new beta mail, which is so slow to load, and they build something like hotmail and aim not their own design and still you can't add it to Outlook (you need to pay Yahoo and Hotmail to be able to add them to Outlook) gmail is the best of them, their software for managing e-mails is not the best but they gave you POP3 which is the best for adding to Outlook and they give you the biggest free inbox available in internet, and they were the first to give such inbox for free, when Yahoo was giving 6 mb and then 4 mb to users and Hotmail was giving 2 mb, Google made gmail and gaved 1GB for free and forced Yahoo and other services to increase their inbox

Knowing email ID is not enough for having access. The password must have been either key-logged or someone might have had access to your computer's cache/temp files.

Does anyone know of an email provider that has an option within their settings where you can nominate a date -?
no..I don't. But I know that you can go to BirthdayAlarm.com and set up an account where it will send you reminders of your friends birthdays. You can even get e-cards ready ahead of time that it will automatically send on the day you specify.
Reply:There are various web sites that have e cards that can be sent at a predefined date.

Lotus notes and outlook express have a calender function where you first choose a date and time , then can send a reminder e mail to anyone when this date / time occurs.Your e mail can be about anything not just a reminder.

Where can I find an email provider from which I can also send out newsletters?

Yahoo! although great for individual emails, does not cater for large numbers of (non spam) newsletters. I do not want to start a Yahoo group, but simply send newsletters and press releases for an organisation with 6000 members. Not getting on too well with Outlook, not least of all because unlike Yahoo!, it doesn't tell you whether incoming email addresses are already in your address book, and doesn't make it easy to add them either. In these days of technology, I am so surprised to have searched high and low for a package which I thought would be readily available. OK, there's packages such as Constant Contact for mass emailing, but although their newsletters look fab, you cannot scroll your email lists in this system and it's not an email system. Please, can anyone recommend anything that's easy and convenient, with great newsletter potential? Anyone here who knows about newsletter template design and databases etc? Help!!!!
Where can I find an email provider from which I can also send out newsletters?
Here are some excellent places to go for sending out large amounts of email (newsletters), however, they aren't free:

there are many, but if you are looking to send gigs of info, open a free aol account, and use it to access a free xdrive acoount.

With x-drive, you can uplode up to 5 gigs of data and send download links to people so that they can download the file.

Can anyone recommend an email provider that carries fewer adverts?
I have Outlook Express and no spam, no ads just mail and can be used as an online email same as yahoo or aol etc. Fewer ads in hotmail.com .
Reply:fewer adverts than what????????

they have adverts to pay for themselves and keep them free for you.

if you want no adverts you will have to subscribe to one

What email provider or email client will allow me to only receive email from those on my contact list.?

I just don't want filters I want blocking too. I mean I want them never making it to my in box.
What email provider or email client will allow me to only receive email from those on my contact list.?
Hotmail.

Go to "Options", then select "Filters and reporting." Choose the "Exclusive" option from your junk e-mail filters. According to Hotmail, they will then only allow "messages from your contacts and safe senders, Windows Live Hotmail service announcements, and alerts that you signed up for" to pass through the filter.

What do you look for in an Email Provider?

what features, services, and security measures are important to you? Is there anything that is not being offered by email providers that you'd like to have?
What do you look for in an Email Provider?
Look for the features that best suit your needs.

POP3 account with web access, Spam filtering, mail blocking, and contact lists.

The only feature that need to be implemented into email is the actual name of the person that owns the address.

If everyone was required to provide, Real names, Addresses, and Phone Numbers in their email address then we would have this kind of spam and email fraud that is so prevalent today.

How do I set Yahoo as my email provider in Internet Explorer. It only gives me the option to chose Outlook?

I use Coral Draw to manage my family photos and to have them automatically reduced and put into JPEG format I have to have a set email program. When I go to tools/programs in IE to set an email program all it gives me is Outlook or Express as my options for my email handling. How to I get IE to reconize Yahoo as my program??
How do I set Yahoo as my email provider in Internet Explorer. It only gives me the option to chose Outlook?
This can be done but u cant do it urself. To do this u shall hv to download yahoo messenger 7.5 and then update it. Yahoo will prompt u to update it. During update Yahoo will ask u to set Yahoo mail as ur default mail. Then say yes and Yahoo will do it for u. This is how I did it. U can also do this way.
Reply:open internet explorer and go to tools and then internet options and then write www.mail.yahoo.com and click OK

next time when ever u launch explorer u will see ur mail.yahoo.com as home page, u can also use shortcut --- alt + home to get this page anytime to check e-mails

Reply:Click tools, then click program tab, and for mail type yahoo mail. I would sign up for yahoo email first then do this. Although don't know if it matters which comes first
Reply:the erason it only gives you outlook is because that's the only E-mail program that you have installed on your computer.

No since yahoo mail is not a program, but just service provided over some browser, you can't set to be "your default" e-mail client.
Reply:This option is for programs installed on the local computer. As yahoo is an internet based email and requires no local software you cant set it up this way. Leave it as outlook express then just work on your pictures. When you are ready to email then log in to yahoo and attach the photos from there

Hope this helps
Reply:They used to have a direct download through their help pages but that page doesn't seem to work anymore. What worked for me was downloading Yahoo Messenger with all the extra features. (choose Typical Install) Once I installed it the new option of Yahoo Mail shows in my Internet Options.
Reply:The E-Mail program option in IE is for specifying your local mail software (like Eudora or Outlook).

If you pay for Yahoo Plus ($30/ per year), you can set up your Yahoo account as a POP3 account and access Yahoo mail through a local mail software like Eudora or Outlook.

If all you want is to get to Yahoo mail when you open IE, the you can set it up as the Home Page (under Internet Options) as a previous poster had suggested.

How to change my web/email hosting provider?

My company website was built by a company who also host the site. I have one email address as part of my package as well. The email service is awful a lot of my emails get bounced. I am trying to move away to something more reliable. I am a complete non-techie what do I have to do?
How to change my web/email hosting provider?
Carry out a search on the web for webhosting sites. If you are based in the UK, I would recommend www.easyinternetsolutions.co.uk

They explain their services quite simply and if you email and ask how to switch, I think they will be able to answer your question. I find them pretty quick to respond.
Reply:You'll want to find a hosting provider that will help you move your current website over. It is not hard to do and some will do it for free. I use http://www.hostamina.com for most of my personal and client sites. I know how to do most of the work of transferring a site, but when I don't have the time, they always do it for me. The e-mail system will come along with the site. There is no extra work to change that. Contact the company I mentioned for more details. They will likely help you out!
Reply:You can sign up to a free email service with Yahoo or Hotmail, and others. Let me know if I can help further.

When I click a link to email a web page it opens windows as the email provider. How do i change it to hotmail?
i dont believe that hotmail offers the pop3 service free.. i think you must have a premium account for that (not sure double check my beliefs) you can simply highlight the email address and input it into your hotmail send to address...

you can change which application handles that in your internet options in ie7
Reply:Click Tools, then Internet Options. Click the Programs tab. Click the drop-down in the E-mail field and select Hotmail (now called Windows Live Mail) from the list. Click the Apply button, then the OK button to save your changes.

If people are using the same email provider?
The choice of email provider is completely unrelated to the choice of email software, screen size, screen resolution, font settings, and anything else that might influence the way the email is displayed.
Reply:depends on both partys settings!!!

if u allow his settings come through with an email...then lol depends what size font he likes and what fonty size u like!!!! type thing.

or u can have it so that you ignore his setup and apply ur own so that u view as u wish to!!! type thing.

Reply:Not neccessarily, Font size can depend on many different things, including the Text Size setting on the email software or Internet browser.
Reply:I think it depends on how an individual setup thier font preference.

Use Word as the editor and email format as html. Create a yahoo group of people and send the email to the yahoo group.

Word will format the entire bulletin as html and yahoogroups will send it to your recipients.

What is the best email service provider?

I have 3 email accounts- Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail, but its annoying using all three at the same time. What one should I use as my default account?
What is the best email service provider?
Yahoo puts advertisements before your mail which makes it difficult to see your mail instantly.

Hotmail deletes your account if you don't use it in one particular time.

Gmail keeps your account forever with some 7GB space and they DONT give your ID to anyone. That only happens if you go to some bad sites and register there. Get Gmail.
Reply:my experience has been better with hotmail over yahoo because i get less junk mail. i would not recommend handing your email address to google they will sell it on and give you load of advertising crape.

thats just my opion. i have a hotmail account for msn and a yahoo account for this... and i dare not look at the yahoo for the 100s email advertising i get.

so thats one vote for hotmail :P

joe:P:D
Reply:Did you know that you can actually get all your mails from yahoo and hotmail to gmail automatically, and also send mails from your yahoo and hotmail account from gmail itself.

These are very simple to do.

However to get mails either mail forwarding, pop or imap should be available in yahoo or hotmail. I don't know if your account will have as yahoo gives pop with certain accounts only and I don't know about hotmail.

Reply:well i'll have to take my chances down talking yahoo on there own site but for me hotmail is better but it depends on a few things

1. if you use msn messenger because then it will tell you when you get an e-mail

2. how much do you use yahoo answers or windows spaces etc because most of them are links and the one you use most you should use for updates

3. how big a nerd are you? ok odd question but in my experience bigger nerds prefer gmail because it is quicker and works with youtube

hope this helps
Reply:I have yahoo, comcast and gmail. I like gmail best. It does not need any special set to work with windows mail on my computer. So when I turn on windows mail it downloads my mail to my computer. Which gives me a back up of all my important emails.

What email service provider can send files of 35mb or more or how do I compress the file?

I need to send a file but it is 40.??? MB and can be compressed to 35.??? MB. I belong to gmail which can send files up to 25 MB. Is there an email service provider that allows me to send the file that I want to send.

Or is there a way to compress it to less than 25 MB? I already used winzip.
What email service provider can send files of 35mb or more or how do I compress the file?
Winzip has a way to split the compressed file into several parts. You can specify how large the parts are, so that they can be emailed.

The recipient saves all the parts (once they arrive) to his local machine, and winzip can reform the original 40Mb file, no problem.

To do the splitting in Winzip, launch it and open the archive of your 40Mb file. Press the shift key and H to Split it. (Or you can click on the menu bar, and go Actions/ Split)

When you see the Split dialog, look at the bottom left. It will have a size there, (something like 1.2 Mb). You can change this to whatever you want. Just select "Other Size" and fill in the "Other Size" field, making sure to select Mb and not Kb, or "bytes".

Winzip will make each part that size, (except the last part, which will just be the remainder of what's left.)
Reply:you can just upload the file in a file sharing host

then give a link in the email
Reply:not sure as i have never done it but i think you could send a file using yahoo messenger.both would need yahoo messenger.also maybe msn messenger might work
Reply:You use Winrar and you compress it into an archive made of 2 parts(part one plus part two) so when someone extracts it, they will need both parts but both parts would be small enough to be emailed.
Reply:For send the big files use rapidshare.com

How do i make my own email provider?

You don't. You need to register a domain name. You can then use any name @your.domain. You would then need a mail server with a fixed internet IP address, preferably 3 of these in different geographic locations, and correct MX entries set in the registrar's dns. Alternatively you can use the domain registrar ro hosting company mail server and arrange for your users to use that. It will be a limited number of email addresses. Either way you will need to keep serious control on security, any user sending spam, or any opening allowing non users to access the server will get you blacklisted across the whole internet. You can also be held liable for any damages caused by your negligence in securing the server.

How do I make Yahoo my default email provider on my computer

Click Tools%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;then click Internet Options.

In the dialog box that opens, click the "programs" tab across the top, and then, click the down arrow at the end of the Email line, and choose Yahoo Mail. "Apply and OK".

Yahoo DOESN'T normally appear as a choice on the drop down list --- cause it's web based mail, and not actually installed on your computer.----Sooooo-- you have to force the issue--this way.

IF Yahoo doesn't appear on your list, as one of the choices-----you will have to download (or RE-download) Messenger---all of it----and that will put Yahoo on the list.

Now go back (tools-internet options-programs) and you will able to select Yahoo---apply and ok.

Later, you can remove Messenger---if you don't really want it---without affecting the setting.

How do I make yahoo my default email provider? It used to be listed under my internet options, programs, email?

I just upgraded my computer from win 98 to win ME. When I had win 98 - Yahoo was listed under tools, internet options, programs, email. Also listed there is Outlook Express %26amp; Hotmail. Now after upgrading Yahoo is gone from that listing. I only can choose from Outlook Express or Hotmail. I don't know how to get Yahoo back. I have the Yahoo toolbar installed but there is nothing listed in there about how to make Yahoo your default email provider. THANKS
How do I make yahoo my default email provider? It used to be listed under my internet options, programs, email?
To make Yahoo! Mail the default email application for your computer, click Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Programs tab %26gt; under E-mail click the down arrow and select Yahoo! Mail %26gt; click Apply. If Yahoo! Mail isn't listed as a default email option follow the directions below and it will solve your problem.

Using Internet Explorer just click "Continue" on the link below to download a small 60K file that will enable Yahoo! Mail to be the default email application for your computer. Whenever you click on an email address on any web page or in any computer program, Yahoo! Mail will open for you in a new window.

If Internet Explorer displays a yellow security bar at the top, click on it and select Install ActiveX Control from the menu.

If a security warning comes up with Yahoo! Inc. as the publisher, click Install.

Now you can click on an email address anywhere and your computer will automatically open up Yahoo! Mail for you.

You can even send documents directly from Word, Excel, or other Windows applications.

Requirements:

Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP / Vista

Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher

Set Internet Explorer or Firefox to open a Yahoo! Mail Compose window if you click an email link on a web page. Email links appear all over the place – contact us links, feedback links, peoples’ underlined names. So, what email program opens when you click links like these? Make it Yahoo! Mail!

Here’s how to set your PC, running either Internet Explorer or Firefox, to open your account’s Compose window when you click an email link on a web page. We’re sorry there’s not an official version for the Mac - yet.

Am I able to create 2 separate email accounts on the same email provider?

I already have MSN, GMail, and Yahoo accounts. Am I able to create a second email account from these providers? If so, how? If not, what are other good FREE email accounts that are safe, reliable, and most importantly, EASY TO USE?
Am I able to create 2 separate email accounts on the same email provider?
I have 2 hotmail, 2 yahoo and on gmail. so yes you can do multiple accounts. It's just a lot to take care of though,
Reply:if you want this for multiple chat logins, use meebo. You can have multiple yahoo, msn, jabber, AIM, ICQ and google talk accounts open at once. Meebo.com I like it also becuse no download is required, and they have some funy easter eggs (lik pirate speak) Report Abuse

Reply:I don't know about MSN or GMAIL but you sure can have two or more accounts with YAHOO. If you have Yahoo Messenger ,Yahelite %26amp; Yazak then it is possible ...by using all three chatroom links,(They all use the same chat rooms) you can have all three accounts at the same time. You need different user names to do it though.ie,a different user name for each, three chat links equals three usernames. You can also have two or more email accounts with Yahoo at same time, but to keep them all active you need to use all of them at least once every three months I think otherwiseb you lose ability to use the email address. though you keep user name if you have created a user name for each email account.
Reply:I think you can. How many emails do you want? Lol. If you can't make another email using the same provider, some people use gaggle.net

You could look at it.

Who is the biggest online email provider?

I dont mean in size of the mailbox, like in GB..

I mean like the number of users they have. How many mails per second travel through their servers and that stuff.

Obviously it is going to be either aol, msn, yahoo, gmail etc. but some solid numbers is what im looking for.

Thanks

Actually it is AOL followed by Yahoo.

Good luck on the numbers, I doubt you can get that info.

Depends on what you mean by "best".

I think gmail is the one that's considered the most professional by others. People will take you more seriously if you have a gmail address than they would if you had, say, yahoo or hotmail.

If you are using IE 6 or 7, open internet options. Choose the programs tab. There you will see outlook listed as your default email provider. On the drop menu you should have other choices available to you. Chose which one you want and click apply. That should do it.

How can I make Yahoo my default email provider with vista?

Hi folks... I know with XP, you go to internet options, click on programs, and then email. But with vista, it doesn't even have the "email" part for me to configure. I'm so frustrated because everytime I click on an email address, I automatically start outlook and I can't stand that program. Thanks in advance...I hope you've had a great long weekend. J.
How can I make Yahoo my default email provider with vista?
you can set yahoo as your default email, so that when you click on an email link it will be yahoo and not outlook. i don't think it's available to those with a free yahoo account, but is available to those with a yahoo premium account which must be purchased. basically you can't have web based email as your default email, but the premium yahoo account (i believe) provide a POP client that you can download and then make it as your default email. there should be an option under options on the right hand side of your screen which will give you an option to make yahoo as default, in a dropdown menu.

Yes! But i don't know what that has to do with e-bay. next time slow down, think about what you want to say, then type it! Doing all those at once makes it tough what you are asking.

What is the best email provider for Windows Vista?
Hi Christian Girl,

IMO Windows Live Mail (previously Hotmail) is the most-efficient mail program out there, mainly because it integrates well with all the other Windows Live products (Messenger, spaces, etc.).

Check out more about it here: http://download.live.com/wlmail .

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ron

Reply:Outlook is the best program to be used with Vista. It was created by Microsoft or at least continues to be developed by Microsoft. So it works pretty much flawlessly with Vista.

Windows Mail I do believe is included with Vista by default, but I am not 100% positive. Just type in Windows Mail in the search bar at the start pearl and it should pop up.

No matter what client you use you will have to set it up with the ISP information in order for it to work such as your username and password and 9 times out of 10 you will need the ISP incoming and outgoing SMTP server.

Here is a web site that has most of the common incoming and outgoing mail servers:

How do I make Yahoo my only email provider?

When responding to a website email address, Outlook Express uses my Clearwire email. How do I make Yahoo my only provider?
How do I make Yahoo my only email provider?
It sounds like you want to make yahoo as your default mail system. If this is the case, then the standard approach to choose the default email program is to go to the Tools -%26gt; Internet Options -%26gt; Programs -%26gt; E-Mail in Internet Explorer or if you are using another browser, you will need to check the preferences for mail system.
Reply:hmmm u have to give smpt survey!
Reply:To have e-mail capability you have to have connection to the Internet! The firm that you contract with to provide you with Internet capability is you ISP. Your network card, router, modem all have their own address, no two net workable devices

have the same address, (MAC Address).

Net workable items on the Internet are also assigned a Internet Protocol (IP) address. These are the address that networks use to find the destinations on Internet traffic.

Software that supports E-Mail capability allows you to send e-mail and receive e-mail to only the software from which the e-mail was created.

You decide which one you want to use! If you only use Yahoo when sending e-mail, then that will be the e-mail address your e-mail contacts will have, thus the only one that they will be able to use.

Your issue is that you send e-mails from other sources than yahoo. If you only want one, then use only the one that you want.

The world will then have no choice.

Yahoo is my email provider how do I contact them?

I need to contact Yahoo and got an answering machine on their customer care line and they don't have an email link I can go to, requesting all my emails from a deleted email address.
Yahoo is my email provider how do I contact them?
Contacting Yahoo won't help. There is no way, even if making the request directly to Yahoo, to retrieve emails from a closed email account. When an account is deactivated or canceled, all emails in all folders, and contacts are immediately deleted and not retrievable.

How do I make yahoomail my default email provider?

I want to send a ms publisher newsletter in an email, but default is outlook.
How do I make yahoomail my default email provider?
Clicking on mail links on web sites will transfer control to your default email application (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc). To change it to Yahoo Mail do one of the following (from Yahoo Help). I do not believe you can change the default outside of a browser such as "right click - send to email".

For Firefox 3...

1. Click Options.

2. In the pull-down menu that opens, select Set Y! Mail as default webmail.

3. Next time you click on a mailto link, you'll see a pop-up asking you which email client you'd like to use ( Yahoo! Mail), and if you'd like to make that selection permanent. Click Yes, and you're all done!

If you use Internet Explorer...

The tiny program that allows you to select Yahoo! Mail as the default email application for your PC is included as part of Yahoo! Toolbar version 7.2 and up for Internet Explorer (not Firefox).

If you don't have Yahoo! Toolbar v.7.2 or later for Internet Explorer installed, you’ll need to download it before proceeding with these instructions.

Here’s how to set your PC to open Yahoo! Mail when you click an email link on a web page.

1. From the “Start” pop-up menu in the lower left corner of your desktop, select “Settings” %26gt; “Control Panel”.

2. In the Control Panel, select “Internet Options”. This opens the “Internet Properties” window.

3. Click the “Programs” tab along the top.

4. Click the “E-mail” pull-down menu, and select Yahoo! Mail.

5. Click OK. Done!

₪ ɦəlʞɹɐq ₪
Reply:Click Tools%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;then click Internet Options.

In the dialog box that opens, click the "programs" tab across the top, and then, click the down arrow at the end of the Email line, and choose Yahoo Mail. Apply and OK.

Yahoo won't normally appear as a choice on the drop down list -----cause it's web based mail, and not actually installed on your computer.---Sooooo-- you have to force the issue--this way.

To be honest, to solve this particular problem, you would get a lot more bang for the buck if you spent the money registering your own domain with a basic mail hosting package than upgrading a Yahoo account to Yahoo Mail Plus.

Does your email address change if you change your Internet provider?

If you have Adelphia, and you use your Adelphia email for example, yes, it would change. yourname@adelphia.com to yourname@your-isp.com. If you were using a service such as MSN Hotmail (which is independant of your ISP) no, it would not change.

I'm not familiar with any law about making emails transferable. However, you can usually keep your email account for a reduced monthly fee. You also might be able to talk them into forwarding your email to a new account. Good luck.

Changed internet provider now can't email my groups?
a person with a yahoo account should be able to log onto their group from any ones computer- if your e-mail has changed, you need to link that to your account

1) clicking edit memebrship top middle of the group- scroll down to e-mail and click (Add new email address) the next page will bring you to adding it, and then confirming it (there are better instructions on the page) once conformed, you need to go back to group and click edit memebrship- check new e-mail, click save changes

2) you can get to account by Y Messenger

click messenger tab- My Account Info- pass word will prompt- click the first edit you see to the right- scroll to Select Primary Email Address: and add new address- click save changes-

go to group and there will be in some way a confirm link next to new address- click and follow instructions

I need to make an email mailing list, but my service provider don't do this. Anyone who can?.
The problem you'll probably face is the number of people you want to send an email to. Most email providers limit the number of people you can add to a group because of issues with spam. Spammers send out the same email to multiple addressees so, out of an abundance of caution, email providers usually limit groups to 10 people.

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or...

You might want to look into bulk email providers or email marketing software that will let you create one group with a couple hundred names. For example, this freeware product might help you with your problem:
