I use hotmail as my email provider but all of a sudden can't open my email attachments, any poss solutions?

I've had lots of problems with my pc lately (xp) and may have deleted necessary software
I use hotmail as my email provider but all of a sudden can't open my email attachments, any poss solutions?
i had the same problem opening attachments once. this is what worked for me:

after the download click on the screen icon to open it up, then click on windows, then put checks next to the lil boxes on the left, then click on the cleanup feature on the right.





then reboot your computer and try your attachments again. hope this helps, good luck.
