Does anyone know of an email service provider that has the capacity for me to see if my mail is received?

I would love to find an email service that has the capacity to let me know if my emails have been received and/or read by the person I am sending them to. Does anyone know if there are any such email services out there? Thanx

Honey, there are several mail client, that have 'Read receipt' and 'Delivery reciept'. But since mails work on something called an Exchange Server, with different companies using different Exchange servers, it is very difficult to one Exchange server to get a Read reciept from a Different Exchange Server.

Hears how it works, its like a long piece of thread that goes to the other persons mailbox, the moment, it is read, it will relay information back to the sender that the mail has been read and the thread will be invisibly cut. If however you ask for a 'Delivery', 'Read' and a 'Delete' Receipt, then your mail will have 3 threads. One for each receipt.

AOL, Outlook, Eudora, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, and nearly every Mail client worth its salt have it.

The catch. You will need to send the mail within the same client.

For instance you will get a delivery, read and delete notification, if you are sending from an AOL address to a AOL Address, and likewise with other clients.

Inter Server receipts are very expensive and come only with one or two custom emails service providers and both of them serve the super rich.

So there you go..

Reply:yes,but it won't be legal.

in closed neworks ,it can be done.for example in one university.
Reply:Outlook - not Outlook express
Reply:It can be done with Outlook and Outlook Express. These are not service providers but rather e-mail programs.

For Outlook: Tools/Options/Preferences/E-mail Options/Tracking Options

For Outlook Express: Tools/Options/Receipts

Sorry, these are the only 2 I'm familiar with.

P.S.

Also be aware that the receiver may have chosen to not allow acknowledgement of ever receiving or opening incoming mail.
Reply:I think AOL does.
Reply:We use webmail at work......we can see when someone opened it and a bunch of other stuff so that if someone says "I didnt get it" we can say........oh hell yes you did!!!
Reply:Outlook Express has that kind of thing built in.

Look at the options when creating and sending your emails.

Look under tools on the ceate email window. It's there.
Reply:Outlook. It's the best!
